A framework for schools to collaborate on the Internet with partner schools in other European countries. You have to first register your school and partnership. You will then have access to a variety of collaborative tools in the TwinSpace and may download and print the eTwinning Label showing that your school forms part of the partnership.

Web tools for networking

EUN Commnunity
A free online platform within the European Schoolnet that allows schools and other institutions to collaborate. All projects involving education are eligible. The network may share files and news articles, discuss in online forums or publish their own web pages. To start a community you will have to fill in an online form and assign an administrator. Ideally this should be done during the course or study visit. A test community is available that may allow you to try the different possibilities and get acquainted with the tool.

Skype
Can be used to call the network members on their computer free of charge. The tool allows you to have conference calls with up to 10 people or chat with a bigger group. Communicating with mobile or ordinary fixed line phones is also possible but will cost money. To be able to phone through Skype you need a headset or a microphone and speakers. To get started you will also have to download the free software.

MSN
A tool for chats as well as audio and video conferences. The Messenger also allows you to share photos and files. If you want to search for something on the Internet, you can use MSN Messenger to carry out shared searches. The software can be downloaded free of charge.
